i-Faber: in 2008 strong rise in revenues and profits for the sixth global provider in procurement services.
by i-Faber S.p.A.
i-Faber: in 2008 strong rise in revenues and profits for the sixth global provider in procurement services. The trend is confirmed by the data of the first quarter 2009. The data of i-Faber’s 2008 financial statements and 2009 first quarter confirm the growth trend of the company controlled by UniCredit that is preparing to distribute the first dividend. Milan, May 21st 2009 – i-Faber, the UniCredit group company that numbers among its shareholders Erg, Impregilo and Oracle, in 2008 registered consolidated revenues on the rise by 35% against 2007, as a result of a managed transaction volume equal to more than 1.7 billion Euros, which is also on the rise against 2007 (+14%). Therefore, the counter value of the transactions performed since the establishment of the company – in 2002 – rises to 7.3 billion Euros (for more than 18,600 negotiations). Today the company can count on more than 580 medium and big registered client companies: more than 130 new buyer companies in 2008 and almost 7,000 new supplyiers (for an overall total of more than 18,000). Also EBITDA - equal to 3.9 billion Euros - and EBIT - equal to 3.1 billion Euros - are on a strong rise. Besides, the company has passed the distribution of a dividend. The data concerning the first quarter 2009 reconfirm the positive trend. Transactions registered more than 450 million – on the rise by around 35% against the corresponding period in 2008 – with consolidated revenues on the rise by around 40%. This is of particular importance in a critical market context, even at sector level. Therefore, the web-based services and solutions for procurement management widen thanks to the benefits they entail, which can be summarised in: Average 12% saving on negotiations, Lowering of negotiation times by up to 80%, Broadening of the supplier base by around 30%, 50-80 Euro saving on each order issued within one’s passive cycle (from order to invoicing) Higher transparency in negotiations with suppliers and internal clients. These results emerge from the analysis of the latest data of i-Faber – sixth global operator in the provision of web-based services and solutions for procurement management. “We are very proud of these results – declares Paolo Chiaverini, managing director of i-Faber – which confirm the effectiveness and the value of the services we provide in more than 20 countries to the benefit of our Clients, namely advanced solutions for the rationalisation of costs and processes: in 2008 we increased the services offered to the world of business organisations in a significant way, also consolidating our presence abroad. The strong growth of the number of client companies and the transacted counter value are proof of the importance of e-procurement – especially in the light of this global crisis, thus allowing managers and companies from all sectors to achieve a significant optimisation of the production processes, from purchases to spend monitoring and analysis.” Also the services offered to the Public Administration widen thanks to an important agreement signed with Consip, joint-stock company of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), which allows the management of the entire procurement process – from the publication of the call for bids to the issue of the order – in compliance with the regulations for purchases by public bodies; in particular, the platform managed by Consip with i-Faber’s support implements, for the first time in Italy, the Long Term Agreement, one of the innovative purchasing tools foreseen in the Public Contract Code that Consip can sign with economic operators as contracting station for other Public Administrations. Moreover, among the successful achievements of 2008 is the acquisition of Joinet, Bolognese company operating in the field of on-demand internet solutions for the management of supply chains.
