PSG GmbH announces joint venture with GIS Europe SE
PSG Procurement Services GmbH, a leading supplier of procurement outsourcing and e-procurement services in Germany, announces a joint venture with the Netherlands based GIS Europe SE. Both companies join forces to offer pan European sourcing and procurement services to multinational companies.
The joint offer acts under the name of ips-GIS International and is operational since march 2009. It provides local support today in the following countries: Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, UK. The expansion with affiliates in other countries will be followed according to customer projects.
Multinationals are centralising their European procurement activities cross border. However most of the procurement contracts are with local suppliers. Companies therefore are looking for an outsourcing partner that can support cross country sourcing strategy and local procurement support at the same time. ips-GIS fits this profile.
“We strongly believe that low cost country service centres do not provide the procurement and sourcing expertise necessary in each European country. Therefore our approach is high quality in-country support combined with pan-European strategy and sourcing. This is cost effective because it produces less ordering problems and a most efficient ordering process” says Manfred Berner, CEO of PSG.
The new venture offers a unique Europe wide source-to-pay solution for multinational companies. Outsourcing of MRO-, C-material and C-service procurement is part of the offer as well as multilingual e-procurement platforms. The benefit for the customer: one contact, one contract and one invoice.
The first multinational company to use the ips-GIS services is BASF. Since January 2009 the company uses the spot buy services of ips-GIS International to channel non-catalogue MRO orders.
